Frozen Harvest

A 3D Exploration game where you, as Peter Salsbury, have to run around your futuristic farm to stop a weather controlling device from covering the entire planet in a new Ice Age.

This solo project was an exercise in 3D gameplay and level design, with all the models hand-crafted using the Unity extension ProBuilder. All the textures were either built in Unity presets or found as free assets on the Unity store.

This was a difficult project to wrap my head around at first. I'm well aware of many "walking simulator" type games but only ever played a handful and wasn't sure how to construct one. My first attempt at designing the level was a mountainous terrain, meant to be traversed as the main goal of the game, but received plenty of feedback that it was boring or uninspired. After a lot of iterating I eventually settled on the idea of being a farmer, and kept the winter theming I originally had as a plot point. It was one of my first major struggles in creating something and I'm quite happy with where it is now.
